It is the Physical Therapy Assistant’s job to treat all assigned patients within the plan of care provided and within the Physical Therapy Assistant’s scope of practice. Serve as an educator to the patient and their loved ones. May perform other professional duties as required by the patients, the rehabilitation department and the facility.
It is the Physical Therapist’s job to evaluate all assigned patients, as well as develop and implement a plan of care that follows the referring provider’s recommendations. The Physical Therapist is responsible for delegating tasks amongst Physical Therapy Assistants, as well as Rehabilitation Technicians. The Physical Therapist is expected to serve as an educator to their patients and their loved ones.
